Please call, text or send us a chat message on our website if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our mission at Carolina Crosshairs is to provide high-quality services that gives our clients the greatest opportunity to locate their next trophy and to give our clients the most detailed information on their wildlife populations so they can maximize the growth and health of their animals.
This is widely dependent on the weather conditions after the shot. The ideal time to locate a deer is right after the shot but they stay warm enough to see for at least 12 hours. We have found deer 16 hours after the shot within 15 minutes. The quicker we get to your spot the higher the % of locating it. Give us a call and we can better advise you on your situation.
Yes and no. Locating deer in thick mature trees with full cover during the warm months is more of a challenge than a 200 acre hay field in the winter, however with the technology of our drone and the height in which we fly if there is even the smallest window we will be able to detect the heat signature.
Yes and No, our drone is able to fly in the rain, however our spotlight is not rated for the rain, so we will be restricted to only flying during daylight hours in the rain. Bright sunny days are the worst weather to locate expired animals, during these times we will need to fly the first few hours after sunrise or at night after sunset normally.
Once a deer is located we will ask for the payment and once it is received we will guide you to your deer with the drone if needed. We also will have a handheld thermal monocular to help you better navigate at night to your trophy.
